In the UK..
There are loads of ways that you can help us right here in the UK as well. Here are a few ideas of what you could try…
- Obviously, making a donation is a great help to us! And, because we’re a small organisation, you’ll really be able to see how your money makes a difference. Right now we don’t have a PayPal page yet, but you can make a donation by either making a BACS transfer into our account at The Cooperative Bank, with the account name of Flor de la Amazonia Group, account number 65391952 and sort code 08-92-99. If you do choose to donate in this way, please email our treasurer at sarah.butler@flordelaamazonia.org . Alternatively, you can email Sarah and arrange to send a cheque by post.
- Join us at the next FDLA meeting – our meetings are open to everyone and are held at various locations around the UK. It’s your opportunity to catch up with all the action in Ecuador, plus the chance to become a member of the charity’s management committee and really get involved.
- Organise a fundraising event in your local community – it could be a gig, coffee morning or a raffle.
- Do a sponsored something – a walk, run, silence..whatever floats your boat! Check out http://www.justgiving.com/ the easiest way to get online sponsorship.
- Spread the word – just by telling your friends and family about FDLA you are helping to raise awareness of the organisation and its values. It’s that simple!
- Download our posters – coming soon – and leaflets to hand out or put up in schools, universities – wherever you can get permission to. Or make your own!
- If you are a university student, find out what clubs and societies are interested in fundraising and the environment and invite them to get involved.
- Try paying a visit to local schools and talk to the pupils about the Wildlife in Ecuador. Make it fun and colourful and they’ll be mesmerised. Very soon we will also have fun activities for kids available for download.
- If you are someone who shops online, then this might be an opportunity for you to support Flor de la Amazonia Group every time you make a purchase.
